Childbirth Classes - Rochester/Brighton

Service Description

This class runs for 8 Tuesday evenings, January 2 - February 20, 2024 from 6:00-8:30 pm, with a final double class on Saturday February 24 from 1:30 to 6:00 pm. The comprehensive class series, which includes 24 instructional hours, is the only class you'll need to be fully prepared for the birth of your choice, whether you are planning to give birth in a hospital, at home, or in a freestanding birth center. Covering pregnancy health, preparing for labor, normal labor and variations, and continuing on through breastfeeding and the postpartum period, you and your partner will be prepared to labor and to parent a newborn with confidence, For more details, please see the "About the Classes" page. ONLINE SIGN-UP ENDS ONE WEEK BEFORE CLASS STARTS. If there is room in the series, you may sign up any time prior to class 3. The Brighton series is in a smaller space and is limited to three couples, so it tends to fill up quickly. If this class is full and you are interested in joining the series via zoom, please contact me. The Informed Beginnings curriculum is designed to equip couples with the knowledge and skills needed to have a positive birth experience with a minimum of medical intervention, without judgment when intervention is used out of choice or out of medical necessity. Understanding how labor works, how to work with labor, the plethora of medical options, and how to provide support during labor gives you the best odds for a healthy, happy birth day. Note: The class fee includes the birthing person and birth partner. If others will be present at your birth (a friend, relative or doula), you are welcome to bring them to some sessions as a guest. The class fee also includes free refresher sessions (attend sessions of a subsequent class series) up to your birth, and phone support during your birth and afterward.
