I have had the privilege of assisting families as they bring their babies into the world since 2005. I work with students in my childbirth classes and others who desire to have the support of an experienced doula at their birth, in the birth setting of their choice. I attend births in all of the area hospitals – in Monroe, Wayne, and Ontario counties – and at home. I have experience attending births with many of the physicians and midwives in our region.

As a doula, I support mothers and their partners with the goal of a safe, healthy, joyful birth experience for the entire family. This can mean different things for different mothers and in different circumstances, and I work to help my clients understand the full range of their options and assist them in getting needed information, whether that be by referring them to additional resources or by helping them know what questions to ask. During labor, I provide physical, emotional, and informational support. My services include one or more prenatal visits, phone support, continuous support during labor through the immediate postpartum period, and a follow up postpartum visit. It is my joy and passion to help make birth a beautiful, empowering experience for the families I serve.

I also offer postpartum doula support, helping you and your family transition to a "new normal" with your newborn. Postpartum doula support can look like many different things. It can take the form of breastfeeding support, guidance in newborn care, light housework, making sure your needs are taken care of - physically and emotionally, preparing meals, and more. Because I am continuing my education with the goal of becoming a midwife, I am limiting my doula work. I am happy to refer you to the Rochester Doula Cooperative. We have a thriving community of wonderful doulas, and I am sure you will find one that is just right for you.

Backup support from another experienced doula (I have several I work with and you have the opportunity to meet and choose your backup doula.)

Round trip mileage of 50 miles from my home in Farmington. (This includes Highland, Strong Memorial, Rochester General, F.F. Thompson, and Newark-Wayne hospitals.) A mileage fee will be charged on any round-trip mileage exceeding 50 miles. Mileage fee is current IRS mileage rate.
*Returning clients receive a 20% discount on doula fees. Sliding scale rates are available in cases of financial need.

Postpartum Doula Care

Day shifts: $30/hour; minimum of 4 hours per shift

Overnight Shifts: $35/hour; minimum of 8 hours per shift
Postpartum doula care is available as bundles of 4 shifts.
A mileage fee applies to travel outside to travel outside a 20 mile radius from my home. Mileage rate for postpartum services is current IRS mileage rate plus 30 cents per mile for time.
Because of the intimate nature of hiring a doula, I do not offer an option to purchase doula services or packages online. It's very important to meet with a potential doula to establish whether they are a fit for your personality and birth philosophy.
